We live in a society where quick fixes are at our disposal.  Don’t know how to do something?  YouTube it.  Toaster broke?  Get a new one.  Need to get paid?  Direct deposit makes it instantaneous.  Need to shed a couple pounds?  There’s a pill/powder/wrap for that.  But, all the best weight loss experts agree:   Diets and weight loss supplements don’t work, at least not for the long term.  Some who have had lap band and gastric bypass surgery will eventually see the weight return.  The only way to lose weight, and keep it off, is by making a real and lasting change in your lifestyle. 

Change is never easy though, is it?  We all start off a new fitness or diet with the best of intentions but something happens to get in the way.  The scale did not move fast enough, there was a holiday banquet, or you set a start date and then forgot so you set a new start date, and then a new one until one day you realized, if you had ONLY started on the original date one year ago you would be at your goal.

I help you achieve your weight loss and fitness goals by working with your ego, the part of you that says “it’s okay, we’ll start tomorrow” or “one piece of cake won’t hurt” or “I’m tired, I’ll go to the gym tomorrow”.  This is the piece of you that is REALLY preventing you from achieving your weight loss and fitness goals.  Hypnosis works in conjunction with your diet and exercise plan helping you help yourself stay motivated and push past any negative influences that distract you along the way. 

However, it is not a one and done session.  Like fad diets, some have had success after one session or even with self-hypnosis recordings, but like fad diets, the results do not last.  Habit forming and eating patterns did not happen overnight, and retraining yourself to form positive and healthy habits will also take time.  Likewise, those wanting to lose more than 25 lbs should visit their primary care physician prior to starting the weight management program as there may be underlying medical causes for the weight gain.  By visiting your physician first, and getting a referral, I am better able to help you achieve optimal results.

What can you expect?

This is your journey.  Hypnosis is NOT magic and it requires you to be fully invested in your own results. 

Your weight management / Fitness program will consist of three phases, a maximum of 6 sessions.  Depending your progress, we may decide to extend the total to no more than 8 sessions. 

Phase 1

  • The discovery phase.  In this phase you will get in touch with your true self and the reasons why you want to lose weight.  We will also begin to change eating habits and increase physical activity. 

Phase 2

  • The action phase.  This is where the real work begins.  It is the weight loss phase where we focus on achieving your goal and last until we have done so. 

Phase 3

  • The maintenance phase.  In this phase we will focus on maintaining your weight loss/fitness goals for the long term, lasting results you are looking for.

Hypnosis Subjects lost 17 lbs With No Special Diet

This study examined how effective hypnosis was in helping women to lose weight. It recruited 60 women who were not dieting or involved in any other program and who were at least 20% overweight. It randomly assigned the women to a control group, to a group that only received hypnosis and to a group that received hypnosis along with audiotapes.  Those who received hypnosis lost an average of 17 (seventeen) lbs compared to an average of 0.5 lbs in the control group.

After 2 Years, the Hypnosis Group Had Lost More Weight and Kept it Off Than the Control Group

This study examined the effectiveness of adding hypnosis to a behavioral management program to help people lose weight. It recruited 109 subjects and randomly split them into two groups, one which received only behavioral management and the other which received behavioral management plus hypnosis. Both groups had lost a significant amount of weight at the end of the 9-week program.

When followed-up at 8 months and 2 years, the group that also received hypnosis had lost even more weight, while the group that had not, remained unchanged.
